Understanding health data is an important part of understanding your risk for lifestyle disease. Engage 180 provides you with a simple score that represents your risk for lifestyle disease. Knowledge about your risk allows you to make positive lifestyle changes that will improve your health, improve your quality of life and help reduce your health care costs. Once you complete your test you will receive your Engage 180 score, which consists of two numbers. The first number represents body mass index and is custom to your height and weight. This is a great way to set weight goals. The second number represents the number of metabolic syndrome factors you have and is crucial to identifying your health risks. Metabolic syndrome is a cluster of 5 risk factors that raises your risk for heart disease, diabetes, stroke, several cancers, along with many other lifestyle diseases. If you have 3 or more positive factors (red box) you have metabolic syndrome. This risk graph can help you plot your score. Are you low risk (green), medium risk (yellow), or high risk (red)? Your goal is to get to green. It is important to note that every risk factor is reversible with lifestyle modification. Get moving, improve your diet, quit smoking, reduce body weight, and talk to your doctor. Then watch your risk decrease as your health improves. Engage 180 puts your health in your hands. Thank you for choosing Engage 180 to monitor your health risks. To complete an Engage 180 report we need to test your blood and receive your body measurements. Please see below for more information.
Take your lab order from us and visit Quest Diagnostics to have your blood specimen collected. Quest will test your blood for the following: HDL cholesterol, triglycerides, blood glucose and hemoglobin A1c which will show your blood glucose levels over the last 3 months.
You must fast for 10-12 hours before the testing.
Take regularly prescribed medications the morning of the test with water only.
The day of the test wait to exercise until after the test.
Come to the test relaxed and in a peaceful state of mind.
Submit your measurements for the test before or after you go. Quest will not collect your measurements, you must do this yourself. Here are some helpful tips...
Waist Circumference - You will need to find a tape measure. To find your waist measurement, first raise or remove your shirt, then stand up straight and exhale your breath. While in this position, hold the end of a tape measure to your navel and wrap it around the narrowest section of your waist. Make sure the tape measure is snug and parallel to the ground. Your waist circumference will not necessarily be the same measurement as your pant waist size.
Blood Pressure - A home blood pressure machine, a reading within 30 days from a physician’s visit, or with the use of a free blood pressure machine found in many grocery or pharmaceutical stores will provide accurate results for you to use with Engage 180.
Height - It is important to get an accurate height measurement as we tend to shrink over the years. You can enter height in feet and inches or just inches for an accurate body mass index (BMI) in Engage180.
Weight - The use of a bodyweight scale that will provide you with reliable results. Please submit your weight in pounds.
To submit your measurements all you need to do is log into your Lab Testing API account and click on the little E180 icon. A form will appear where you can easily input your measurements and submit to us.
Please do not exercise prior to testing. It is best that your blood is taken in a rested state.
Note: Turn around times on results are an estimate and are not guaranteed. The lab may need additional time due to holidays, confirmation/repeat testing, etc. You can contact us to discuss when your results should be ready and we will contact the lab on your behalf immediately.
Doctor’s order provided & Same Day Testing.
Your specimen will be collected for you at a local testing center.
Results sent electronically in 2-3 days* More complex tests take longer.
Use your lab results to help make better health decisions. Knowledge is nothing if it isn’t used.
