Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is a member of the herpes virus family and is one of the most common infections around the world. It is also known by the name “kissing disease” and can be spread through close contact like kissing and through sharing utensils/toothpaste etc with the infected person. It is found in the saliva of the infected person. The EBV Antibody Blood test is used to screen and monitor an EBV infection. The test detects the presence of antibodies against EBV in the blood.
